Standard Course Offerings: New User/Beginner Course - This Track is specifically designed for users new to the edulog.nt system and for those who are planning on converting from PTS III edulog to edulog.nt. Intermediate Users - Review information and improve edulog skills with these NEW additions to our standard courses. Advanced USers - Take your system to the next level with these tracks. This course is geared towards using your edulog.nt systems beyond day-to-day routines.
Interested in GPS? The use and capabilities of computerized transportation management software has grown beyond what anyone might have imagined. We anticipate that the same rapid advancement is inevitable with GPS/AVL. As such, we are excited to discuss the current solutions and to work together to define the possibilities of GPS.
System Requirements for non-edulog Laptops
If you plan to use your own laptop, it must meet the following requirements:
Operating System:Only Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista Business, Enterprise or Ultimate edition. Windows 95/98, NT, XP Home and Vista Home editions will not work Hardware:2 GB hard drive, 256 MB of RAM, and an 800 MHz or faster processor. Data:All laptops must be loaded with edulog Conference Data. This data will be sent two weeks prior to the conference. Many of the conference sessions require data that has been calibrated and tested. Using the conference data prevents class interruptions and guarantees identical results during sessions. Districts are not allowed to use their own data.
If the laptop you are planning to use at the conference is currently loaded with edulog, contact edulog support prior to loading the conference data.
IF YOUR LAPTOP IS YOUR MAIN EDULOG SERVER OR WORKSTATION, IT CANNOT BE USED FOR THE CONFERENCE.
Questions to help determine if the beginner or intermediate course would best suit your needs and abilities:
- Have you ever run a student download?
- Can you add a student and assign them to a stop?
- Can you create an additional trip for a student?
- Can you build a stop? If so, can you explain what a stop service is?
- Can you build a run in both tabular and graphical mode(s)?
- Can you build a route?
- Can you create a student work list of students from a particular school?
- Have you ever run utilities in EMU (edulog maintenance utilities)?
- Can you build a batch in EMU?
- Can you copy and edit a standard report?
- Can you create a report from scratch?
- Can you explain the map you use in MARIS? Can you explain a node, segment and attributes?
- Can you use windows explorer to find edulog folders on your server?

Day 1 am:
Beginner: Getting started in edulog - introduction to mapping and boundary basics
Intermediate: EMU utilities - downloading and matching students to the map
Advanced: Mapping - structure of map database; adding, changing, deleting and renaming streets
Special features (topics): Introduction to EduTracker (edulog GPS software)
Day 1 pm:
Beginner: Introduction to students and assigning students to stops
Intermediate: Introduction to creating new and modifying existing edulog reports
Advanced: Boundary Planning - creating data sets, getting tallies and modifying existing boundaries
Special features (topics): EduTracker - stop and run editor; creating new and modify existing runs based on GPS data
Day 2 am:
Beginner: Get started creating new and modifying existing runs and routes
Intermediate: Fine tuning existing transportation data: runs and routes
Advanced: Get started setting up data for special education routing
Special features (topics): One-on-one sessions (limited and by appointment only)

Beginner: Modify and customize run directions created by the edulog system
Intermediate: Multi-day, multi-destination routing setup with and without frequencies
Advanced: Data preparation advice for run and route optimization scenarios
